Tamarindo Halloween 2018: 9 Halloween Parties!

If you're in Tamarindo for Halloween, you'll be delighted to hear that our sandy little beach town goes BIG for the year's spookiest holiday. We're talking parties and prizes and all sorts of spooky décor, courtesy of the best Tamarindo Halloween parties. From witchy drinks to live DJs, from breezy costumes to $1,000+ in prizes, Tamarindo is serving up all the creepy tunes, scary events, and spooky revelry you could want for your Halloween in Costa Rica celebration. Enjoy!

1. Halloween at Sharky's

Hosted by Sharky's | 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sharky's is a Tamarindo Halloween mainstay, promising one of the most popular parties in town. You can expect lots of spooky Halloween décor, mood music, and themed drinks, plus special prizes, including for the best costumes (group costumes, encouraged!). It's Halloween at Sharky's. Say your prayers...

2. Nightmare at Lizard Lounge

Hosted by Lizard Lounge | 8 p.m. We love the annual party at Lizard Lounge, the self-professed "best Halloween party in Tamarindo." They're celebrating all week – lots of themed décor, creepy food and drink, and other details – but Wednesday is the big day, with prizes, music (courtesy of DJ FireB), and open bar. May the best costume win!

3. Halloween Party @ Mojitama Huacas

Hosted by Mojitama Huacas | 8:18 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. With free Miguelitos for the ladies and Chiliguaro or Jager for the men – you must come in costume, though! – you know that Mojitama Huacas' Halloween party will get off to a great start. They're also offering music by DJ Summer and guest DJs, karaoke, and a dress-your-best Halloween costume contest.

4. Halloween Costume Party @ Rumors Tamarindo

Hosted by Rumors Tamarindo | 7 p.m. Rumors Tamarindo is serving up some serious Halloween spirit with a night of partying, complete with prizes for the best costume, the funniest costume, and other themes. There will also be excellent music, courtesy of the guest DJ, as well as free shots and canapés. Bring your costume A-game!

5. It's Halloween, Witches!

Hosted by Mermaids & Sailors | 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. We can't refuse a good pun! And, of course, we also love that this is one Halloween party that does a body good: All day, Mermaids & Sailors yoga classes will crown one winner per class, plus an overall grand prize winner. (Of course, they're also serving candy and treats! So... maybe it balances out?!) They're also collecting donations for recent flood victims in Guanacaste.

6. Halloween en Crazy Monkey

Hosted by CRAZY Monkey BAR Tamarindo | 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Crazy Monkey offers a great Halloween party, complete with DJ José Fuentes, a spooky Happy Hour (9 p.m. to 11 p.m.), two dance floors, and a flaming fire show. There will be live Latin music and DJ Selecta Twist will also be on-hand to serve up beats. Plus, more than $1,000 in prizes. Wear your Halloween best!

7. Halloween Party & Costume Contest @ Barefoot

Hosted by Barefoot Restaurant Lounge | 5:30 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Offering Halloween dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. – the official Halloween party kicks off at 9:30 p.m. – Barefoot offers a full night of Halloween fun. The Costume Contest is held at 11 p.m. (first prize is a $50 credit at the bar!) and hey, if you find the hidden White Spider, you'll win a free drink at the bar.

8. Trick or Treat on Halloween

Hosted by Nordico Coffee House | 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. If you're visiting with kids, then head to Nordico Coffee House for some Halloween trick-or-treating. Take a photo in the scary kids' corner and your little one will get a handful of candy.

9. El Garito Tamarindo presenta: Halloween 

Hosted by El Garito Tamarindo | 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. If you like your Halloween with a side of serious music, then you'll love El Garito's take on the holiday: a full night of tunes, featuring Arturo Monge a.k.a. FRiGiD (GrooveSessions, IN:SOUND),  Ezequiel, and Miguel RD. We hope this year is spooktacular!
