We stayed for 5 days in July of 2026 for an 8 person bachelorette. The communication prior to, during, and after our stay with Elsa was world-class. There is an obvious reason she is in this industry and her efforts are above and beyond. She was contacting us daily to make sure we had what we needed and booked trips and excursions for us. She even went out of her way to come visit us on our first day to say hi and chat. Villa Uana is in a private gated community. The good is that it's safe, the bad is that there is an extra layer of difficulty when traveling with multiple other people to make sure they are on the same page with access codes, QR codes, the whole 9 to enter different gates and doors. We were also notified 3 days before our stay that the main access rd from Tamarindo was closed and there was an 8 mile detour dirt road in place in the opposite direction. This was a huge bummer to us as we booked the place already feeling that we were on the verge of being too far from the downtown Tamarindo beach area, and now we just added another 25-30 mins to the drive. Of course I do not blame StayinTamarindo, as they are doing their best to mitigate upset guests, vendors, house keepers, etc. It was just unfortunate! We went to Rincon De La Vieja and though the zip lining was fun, I do not recommend going just due to how long it takes you to get there vs. the value in the activities once on-site. The hot springs are nice but the horse back riding is a 10 minute ride in a pack of horses on concrete paths, the natural water slide is just ok, the buffet lunch is bad, the pottery "show" is 5 minutes, the "pastries and coffee" is just a nimble and 1oz of coffee, and the drive was 2.5 there and 3.5 back. We also went on a catamaran in Tamarindo which is your traditional tourist boat with open bar and swimming near a beach etc. I do want to make a note that almost two months before we were set to arrive, we found another home on their website that was newly added that would have suited us better. It was actually more money than the current home we booked. After reading our cancellation policy in our contract, I reached out to see if we could make a switch, with there being almost 10 weeks before we arrived, me being willing to pay any cancellation or processing fees, and upgrading to a bigger/better home, I thought they would be more flexible with us. It was a hard "no." I did the math and if I had simply just cancelled our reservation and ate the $500 and then re-booked the house under another one of the girls names, they wouldn't have even known.... but of course that felt wrong and we didn't want to cause any trouble. However, they intimidated me enough and made me feel like if we pushed harder to cancel and re-book a different property, they wouldn't have accepted our new booking and we'd be without a house. The entire thing was weird and felt customer service was really lacking. I do want to end this in saying Elsa made this experience what it was, she is extremely kind and professional and should be running her own travel agency. Our house mom, Diana, though we only saw her twice as she doesn't work Sundays and the other days we were out of the house on excursions, was excellent and adds a lot of value to the price of the rental. The home itself was good for 8 people but the outdoor area is aging. There are broken tiles, the pool levels were so low nothing would go into the skimmer so the entire top layer was just bugs and debris. The outdoor kitchen area needs a makeover. It smells a little damp in some of the rooms but overall the home is well stocked and you had what you needed.

This was a fabulous stay. Our coordinator Elsa was on top of everything and very helpful with our needs and answering all our questions. She even came over from her office as I had asked if we could meet her as she was so nice. We had a housemother with us Diana, she perfectly cooked our breakfast as we asked and made our entire stay the best of a lifetime. She kept the house clean and tidy for us, was not intrusive into our everyday life but always there when we needed her. We had a 12 year old with us and we were playing in the pool, she went and blew up some pool toys for us to play with and we did not ask she was fulfilling our needs to make us have a more beautiful trip. There is laundry equipment in the home and is excellent condition. Everything worked perfectly. The dinind area had plenty of room for all 10 of us with room for more people. The host Elsa also helped us book the drivers, cars and golf carts we needed as well as booking the tours we needed. They were alll excellent tours and beyond anything we dreamed of. If you are looking for a place to stay in Costa Rica Tamarindo this is the place for you and your family. We loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing that was inconvenient was there wasn’t much to do around the house. Walking to the resort area was pretty far and the food was mediocre. The house was great and the house mom, Keyla, was AMAZING! Can’t say enough good about Keyla and Elsa was super responsive to all of our requests. We hired chef services to come in and cook us breakfast and dinners which made things a lot easier. Getting around wasn’t easy though. We ended up renting a golf cart which helped a lot but we were only able to drive it around the resort. We ended up finding a local who picked us up and drove us around. That was awesome.
Overall, it was an enjoyable stay and we did enjoy the pool.

If you are staying in Tamarindo, you absolutely have to stay in Tamarindo—specifically at Villa Uana. From the moment we arrived, the experience was incredible. Elsa, the host, kindly waited for us until we arrived for check-in and provided fantastic recommendations for things to do around the area.
Diana was truly exceptional. Her level of service, professionalism, and warmth was felt by everyone in our group of 13. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed during our stay.
The property itself is beautiful and equipped with all the amenities you could possibly need. We completely fell in love with Hacienda Pinilla, and Villa Uana was a huge part of that experience. Diana’s hospitality and the charm of the villa made our stay unforgettable.
We would absolutely return again.

We had a group of nine adults. We could not have asked for a better house mom Diana, concierge service by Elsa, our driver Giovanni. We did the prearrange. Food ordering. Which was nice to not have to worry about getting something the day we got in. Diana made us a fabulous breakfast every morning, snacks and drinks. I would highly recommend doing the elite service with the with having the breakfast prepared for you. The golf carts were top-notch. Elsa was to easy to work with for last minute transportation any questions we had or any issues. Would definitely use stay in Tamarindo services again for our next day.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Uana. Diana our house staff was absolutely wonderful. She made breakfast, lunch, snacks, helped do laundry and kept the house so clean every day. She definitely made the experience really nice and her food presentation was amazing. She was wonderful. The house was perfect for our girls grip and the neighborhood is very safe and gated. Check in was smooth and easy, the house manager is very responsive and helpful.
I recommend getting your groceries on the way into the villa as traffic can be bad or unpredictable and the grocery stores are all on the way before you get to Hacienda Pinilla. Other than that, the house has everything you need and we had a wonderful experience. I would go back.

Great place and terrific management company. Diana was wonderful. Her breakfast was always delicious and she did such a great job keeping the house spotless. Enjoyed having our clothes washed and folded every day. The concierge, Elsa, was terrific. They have their own private tours which were so easy to plan and excellent. She arrange a fishing trip which was great. Issues that would arise with the house were immediately addressed. Stay in Tamarindo is the best management company I have experienced. This house was also perfect and Hacienda Pinilla was great. Definitely rent a car. It was easy to get to beach club, hotel, Playa Langosta (‘y favorite) and golf, tennis and bike center. The service at the beach club was great. Having the Pinilla market so close by was very convenient. This was definitely a great stay.

Our stay in Villa Uana was paradise. We stayed there with 3 families; 6 adults and 8 children. The house was a perfect fit for us. Prior and during the trip Elsa was so accommodating. She suggested activities based on our preferences and then booked them for us. She was always prompt in responding and answered all our questions. Dianna our house mom was AMAZING! She would make huge breakfasts for our group every morning and when we returned from our adventures from the day our house was clean and laundry was done. For a regularly busy working mom swamped in housework this was a gift! If you decide to stay at Villa Uana definitely get a car. It is about a 10-15 min drive to the beach. Pura Vida!!

This was a perfect house for our stay! From the time of booking Elsa was helping me plan every aspect of our stay. She always responded quickly and her help was invaluable to the wonderful time we had there. While i was there through whats app she would respond immediately to all my messages. I traveled here with two other families. We had 6 children under 6 and 2 infants. The house was so comfortable for everyone and Diana the house mom was so amazing!! She keeps the house spotless during your stay and did our light laundry everyday. Making it a TRUE vacation. She also cooks breakfast everyday. We decided to go get the Groceries ourselves but looking back we would have done the upgrade where they provided the groceries.

Our family of 11 (all adults) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. It was clean, exactly as pictured, and had everything we needed. Diana, daily house keeper, cooked us breakfast any morning we desired and even prepared an authentic Costa Rican breakfast one morning. She did our laundry and cleaned daily. We had one maintenance issue to report that occurred outside with an electrical outlet that shorted out due to storms (did not impact our stay) and they were prompt to arrive and address. Hacienda Pinilla is outside the busy Tamarindo area but a quick commute (20 mins). We felt safe at all times. We enjoyed being able to walk the roads inside the resort and look for the monkeys. We ate dinner at the JW Marriott a couple of evenings which is inside the resort and a quick 10 minute drive. We would definitely stay here again!

We just got back from the best family vacation to Costa Rica. What made it so wonderful was the house that we stayed in and the wonderful people who were there to support us. The house Mom Diana was out of this world. She prepared the most amazing breakfast, snacks and fresh juices/smoothies for the kids. She kept the house spotless and even did light laundry. We traveled with 3 families, 6 Adults and 8 kids to Costa Rica and stayed at this beautiful home. There was plenty of space for everyone. The home had all of the comforts of home and then some. There was a beautiful pool for the kids, great outdoor spaces and a beautiful kitchen for a large group. The community had a wonderful beach club too. What set this house apart, was the amazing team that was there to serve you. Elsa answered so many questions prior to the trip and during our trip. She had great recommendations for all of our needs, from restaurants to surf lessons and excursions she was amazing. The house Mom, Diana was such a blessing for all of us. She prepared amazing breakfasts, squeezed fresh juices, smoothies and cocktails poolside. Her guacamole and fresh pick were all amazing. She kept the house spotless and even helped with all of our laundry. It’s one of the first vacations we are going home with mostly clean clothes. Would definitely come back to stay again.

The house and property were amazing and spot on to the pictures! This was a family vacation with the kids and there was plenty of room for our group. I can’t say enough about this place and the amazing time we had. Some monkeys come visit us a few times! From the start of booking to the last day of our trip, our concierge Elsa was amazing. She helped us with any travel arrangement we needed, and she took well care of everything. We could not have done this trip with out her help. Also our housekeeper Diana was stellar. She made us amazing breakfasts and snacks and made sure we were taken care of throughout the day. I would definitely go back to this house if we can ever make it back to Costa Rica!

Elsa was key to a very relaxing and much-needed vacation for 11! From booking transportation, chef services, to tours! Definitely took the work and worry out of an enjoyable time with family. Beautiful property and home. Six bedrooms 6 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms with in suite bathroom. Very comfortable king size beds with separate air conditioners in each room for individual control Filtered water dispenser. Diana “house mom” was such a special treat and took care of cooking, laundry, cleaning etc. Elsa, the property manager was very attentive and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to visit this property again!

Everything was great about the house, the location and proximity to tamarindo. It fit 5 couples perfectly and the outdoor space was amazing. But what made this place outstanding was the house lady Diana, not only is she amazing at her job but her demeanor and warm personality made this place feel like home. She made us breakfast for every morning and worked around different peoples schedule and she went above and beyond. The host Elsa was also amazing and super attentive the whole trip. The whole team made the experience go above and beyond. The only negative was hacienda Pinilla itself where a lot of the amenities were closed or closed early because no one was working or other random reasons but besides that 5/5

our stay at Villa Uana was super. Everyone (15) enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The beach, the pool, the service, horseback riding, ATV rides, trips in to Tamarido, and the birds and monkeys. This home is beautiful and Dianna keeps it sparkling clean! I really enjoyed the breakfast and snacks she cooked for us. Elsa can help you arrange everything from dinner, flight transfers, car rentals and excursions. I highly recommend the day spa experience she can book for you. The beach club is nice but the beach is slightly rocky. Overall, the home is perfect if you are looking for a large property to accommodate all of your friends or family. Restaurants are about 25-30 minutes away in Tamarindo and there are a few close by. I recommend Il Rustico in Playa Avellanas, about a 10 minute drive from this house.

This property has everything you need to have a wonderful tropical getaway in Costa Rica. The outdoor space had everything we needed and more, with enough pool space for the kids to enjoy, and perfect outdoor living set ups to eat our meals al fresco and relax with a book by the pool. Our house mom was wonderful and cooked delicious food for us and kept everything tidy. We had plenty of towels for the pool and the local beaches. We enjoyed the golf, horseback riding and beaches within Hacienda Pinilla, and loved the local sites of Tamarindo. Highly recommend this property and location for couples or families.

The house is located approximately 30 min from Tamarindo and you will need to plan accordingly, if you plan to be in the town often. The house mom, Diana, was PHENOMENAL. What a beautiful home to spend a birthday vacation with friends. This house definitely matched the photos of the listing. Deana, the house mom, was amazing. She went above and beyond; always helpful with a smile on her face. Our large group took full advantage of all the amenities offered. Elsa was very prompt to respond to any issue or questions about the house. The house is located 30 mins outside of Tamarindo so you most definitely need some form of arranged transportation. I highly recommend staying here and would love to stay again next time I come to Costa Rica. Pura Vida :)

Only downside to this house was that it’s actually 30 mins outside of Tamarindo and not walking distance to the places we anticipated on going to. You most definitely need some form of arranged transportation. Other than that, I highly recommend staying here and would love to stay again next time I come to Costa Rica. Pura Vida :)

Having your own rental car or a golf cart is always what we suggest to our guests as Villa Uana is located in the private community known as Hacienda Pinilla, and it would help to have more flexibility to go to town, restaurants, or even to the groceries shops, however, the guests always decides what's most convenient for them. Elsa (our concierge) helped us with every element of our trip including transportation, activities, local food recommendations, pre-stocking of groceries and even scheduling our Covid tests. We had a group of 13 friends and the home was spacious and comfortable for all. We spent almost all of our time enjoying the beautiful backyard. Everything was spotless and comes with all the necessities you would want. The location is tucked away in a quiet and very safe community. Just close enough to Tamarindo to enjoy a night out for dinner but far enough away that it feels like a retreat of its own. The neighborhood grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Diana (the house mom) was so sweet and helped with everything around the house including dishes, laundry, tidying up the home and meals. Each morning she prepared a breakfast spread outside for us including coffee, juices, fruit and our preferences for the day. Our favorite meal being a local favorite that she recommended. This took all the stress out of the trip and provided the relaxation of booking a hotel. This home was a 10/10 and I would recommended it to anyone visiting the area!

Our stay in Tamarindo was amazing! We had guest of 15 and were able to comfortably enjoy our stay. The pictures don’t do this space justice at all! It’s so beautiful in person. Every room has a bathroom, towels were changed daily, house mom was there 8-4pm daily, and many accommodations were made for us. Special thanks to Elsa for getting us prepped and ready before our travel. I’m the type of planner to have everything arranged and planned before arrival and Elsa made sure we were good to go. She arranged excursions, caterers, massage therapist, nurses, and more! She checked on us daily and made sure things were running smoothly! Second and third special thanks goes to Diana our house mom and Eddie our tour guide driver! They made our stay extra special with their kindness and knowledge of the land.
Our stay is about 20-25 minutes away from downtown Tamarindo. We rented multiple cars so this drive wasn’t bad at all. I recommend rental cars if you plan to travel outside of Tamarindo or see yourself going downtown often. It’s easier and Uber can get pretty tricky or not show up!
Nightlife was good! There’s a ton of beach bars (Pacifico, Sharkys, etc) that play an abundance of music genres! We met some cool people that recommended other nearby jungle and beach parties nearby. If you have time, see about traveling outside of Tamarindo to visit other beaches as well. Elsa will send a list of bars and restaurants she recommends to try during your stay!
Overall, this stay was one for the books and I HIGHLY recommend you book your stay in Tamarindo!

I am giving an Excellent rating because our Concierge and House Mom were the BEST EVER! Our stay wouldn't have been as easy, comforting or enjoyable without them. We had a couple hiccups, and Elsa stepped right in to assist. I would highly recommend her as your concierge and Diana is the kindest and most patient house mom. We miss her! Villa Uana is a beautiful home, clean and very inviting. We enjoyed our stay and hospitality of the Costa Rican life style.

From the day I booked the house, Elsa helped with everything we needed. We had it all tee’d up perfect. From tee times, to a private chef, horseback riding and transportation to dinners… Elsa arranged it all and everything flowed seamless. The house was as advertised and having Dixie cook breakfast every morning and handle our laundry needs was the perfect touch for our vacation away from our busy lives. Highly recommend this house.

The house was exactly as advertised. The interior was well maintained, rooms spacious and bathrooms and kitchen very clean. House was spacious enough for three families of 2 adults and 2 kids each - enough room for at least 12 people. Parents had their own rooms and the 6 kids shared three bedrooms. Bathrooms functioned well. Outdoor living space was great - gas fireplace and huge dining table. Elsa, the concierge, was excellent. Very responsive and professional. She lined us up with chefs, excursions, dining, etc. She was absolutely wonderful. Great trip.
