Matapalo Penthouse #701

We just returned from 4 nights at the penthouse in Tamarindo - excellent stay! Condo is great - views are as pictured and the team is super responsive. We were there with 4 college-age boys and the location was perfect. It's in the middle of everything. My husband and I ventured out further down the street with the golf cart, out of the Spring Break crowd, but the condo, the location, restaurants and coffee shops were all perfect for our trip. We arrived in Tamarindo after 3 nights in La Fortuna. In hindsight we could have returned our rental car as we didn't really need one from this location - everything is walkable. We rented a golf cart from RentMe: It was nice to have after we finally got it but they didn't bring the golf cart until the night of the 1st rental day (v 10 am scheduled) - they've promised a refund for that day but I will have to follow up on that. It was a full day of them saying they were going to deliver it and me following up to find out the new delivery time. It was nice to have for a couple of days but not a necessity and the back and forth for an entire day was a nuisance. Airport tip: If you are flying out of Liberia - give yourself plenty of time. We relied on the Waze estimate of 1 hr 15 min and the kids almost missed their flight - tons of traffic on the way. Don't know if that's normal or we just were unlucky but it took us about 2 1/2 hours to get to the airport. Would definitely stay here again, especially with kids, big or small.

This was just perfect for our group ages 6-76! The pictures of the view do not do it justice. Everything was perfect about the unit itself, and we loved that we could walk everywhere we needed. There’s a little corner store for groceries down the street, and we saw howler monkeys in the trees overhead. The provided beach towels was a nice perk, and the pool is fantastic. Highly recommend staying here when you’re in Tamarindo!

We arrived at different times from different places to enjoy a very blessed occasion, my son and his sweet fiancé's wedding. Staying here gave us the perfect worry-free experience allowing us to gather and enjoy our family, Costa Rica and relish all the beauty of the wedding! Beautiful stay in this amazing point of view of Playa Grande. Clean, well equipped, pretty well located, AC worked effectively... we were very comfortable. And Adriana took care of us when needed. We are grateful !

We really enjoyed our stay in Tamarindo. The Penthouse was large, clean and absolutely beautiful. It had everything we needed and was walking distance to many restaurants, shops and the beach! I highly recommend staying here.

This is a great place that is close to all the shops and eateries and of course the beach. The pool is awesome for groups to gather and have a cocktail. Adriana was so helpful lining up our excursions and taking care of our transportation. Great experience 😀

Matapalo is a luxury condo complex which sits behind the Diriá resort in the center of Tamarindo. Fantastic walk ability to the beach, restaurants and shopping. We worked with Stay in Tamarindo property managers and our concierge, Adrianna, was extremely responsive and helpful- from booking rides, dining and excursion reservations to facilitating our pre-arrival grocery order and a simple maintenance request. Unit was comfortably furnished and offered incredible views of the coastline. The ONLY downside of our location, according to my adult children- was a lack of nightlife in the area. The complex has plenty of amenities including a lovely pool. Be sure to say hello to the condo cat, Crystal.

Truly breathtaking from the interior design to the best sunsets & sunrises!! The location is right smack in the city center you can just walk across the beach to restos and a pool with a bar. You can dine out or cook with complete amenities and utensils one can ever need. True to the description above it is truly very hard to leave!

This penthouse was perfect for our family. Had everything needed for our 5 night stay. Shuttle driver was on time and very friendly. Check in was fast and easy. Would recommend staying here.

Great condo, in an excellent location of playa Tamarindo. This condo sleeps 12 people. There is an upstairs with full kitchen master bed and a two full bed bedroom, balcony, office, one large bathroom. Downstairs has the same but 2.5 bathrooms and the laundry. Our concierge was very helpful with the booking of the condo to activities and if we had any issues they were there to assist. There are two pools both fantastic with friendly people and very relaxing. I totally recommend this place for families.

Our family of 6 adults and 1 3 yr old child stayed at this wonderful condo in Tamarindo. The condo is huge! It is beautiful and very well decorated and appointed. The ocean views are wonderful and the location is in the middle of Tamarindo within easy walking distance to the beach, shopping and many resturants. The pool facility at the property is outstanding for families and had a swim up bar and many shallow areas for us to play with our 3 year old. Adrianna, the concierge was wonderful. She assisted us with arranging a chef to prepare a meal at our condo. What a meal, it was wonderful! She also helped us arrange a private boat trip for an afternoon sunset cruise. The boat trip was fantastic, lots of food, all the drinks you could want, beautiful views, snorkeling and a fantastic sunset on the water! We would highly recommend this property.

Great lace! This condo is fabulous! Spacious and comfortable with everything you need for a great vacation. The views were amazing - pool, beach, expansive ocean, palm trees, sky. Within minutes you have access to everything - several terrific pools, beach, restaurants, shopping. Yet, with a 7th floor location it was quiet and we felt away from the bustle when we were there.
Our family of 7 spent a week here - more than enough space and great because everyone had easy access to whatever they wanted to do. It was a great place to have as home base - we are looking forward to coming back.

This condo is just beautiful. The views are just outstanding. The beds are very comfortable , A/C works great, the two patios are great as well! The location is right next to the beach, pizza, ice cream and a grocery store. We always rent a car , but if you don’t everything you will need is 2-5 minute walk. Adriana & Cristina will make your stay wonderful. They will work very hard to help you plan everything. Just ask and they will definitely not disappoint.
