Flamingo Blu

This house was wonderful. It had incredible views. Lots of great places to hang out with all the guests and everything was comfortable. Having a beautiful pool and sitting area along with easy access to a gorgeous and mostly quiet beach area was really great. Incredible landscaping that made it feel private but left enough open to enjoy the beautiful views. All the vegetation attracted wonderful birds to the yard.
The house was nicely decorated with some really nice artwork. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the tools you needed to prepare meals as well as a great bbq area. The place was immaculate on arrival and was kept super clean the entire time we were there. The staff did a wonderful job, was super nice and kept a low profile during our visit.
Renzo our host was great. He met us on arrival and took us through the entire house. He helped us with transportation to and from the house, rental vehicles, preordering food and having food prepared for us.

We had a fabulous time at Flamingo Blu! The views were amazing! The beach was amazing! The house was perfect for our group of 6. The staff was exceptional as well! The area had wonderful restaurants and was easy to get around in golf cart!

Our stay at Flamingo Blu was amazing!! We had chef Luis for several days prepare the most delicious food! Renzo was helpful with information and setting up fabulous excursions for us! He was prompt in replying to all questions and any requests we had! The house was stunning: the pool, the sunsets, the view, the beach! The rooms were great as well! Clean and comfy, each with their own air conditioning! Housecleaning serviced each of the rooms everyday and even did laundry! We had fabulous dinners out that we drove to on our golf cart! Grocery stores and the marina were nearby as well! We don’t want to go home! Best week ever!

Our stay at this incredible VRBO in Costa Rica was truly the vacation of a lifetime! Renzo was absolutely amazing—his communication was top-notch, and every recommendation he provided, from restaurants to private chefs, exceeded our expectations. The food was beyond fantastic, and we felt so spoiled! The staff at the house, from the cleaners to the maintenance team, were incredibly kind, attentive, and always made us feel at home. This property, the staff, chef Luis, and Renzo exceeded our every expectation. We were 9 friends and family, all experiencing Costa Rica and Playa Flamingo for the first time. Flamingo Blu was the perfect first chapter to our adventure. Equal parts luxury and comfort, the perfect sandy beach, staff that spoiled us and the sound of the waves from every corner. Location: This house sits about 150’ over the beach and could not be placed any better on the lot. The sunset views that you get every night are absolutely incredible! The steps to the beach are at the end of the cove where the sand meets the rocky shore, perfectly placed. There were only a handful of people on the beach at any given time, basically it was like having your own private beach. The property is quite large and very private, very hard to see the neighboring houses from any patio or bedroom. Native trees and plants cover the property, very authentic Costa Rican House is a unique architectural masterpiece and has everything you need, honestly spent most of our free time downstairs at the covered porch and in the pool. Had dinners on the second floor patio every night. Beds comfortable. Sound system was great! There are 2 cleaning ladies and 2 security / maintenance guys there most everyday. They are hard working and we didn’t even notice them. We would leave daily and come back to clean clothes, new towels, made beds, clean dishes, etc. They keep great care of the property and are so helpful in making sure you relax and enjoy your vacation. The property manager is AMAZING. I cannot say enough great things about him. The communication that he had with me was next level, sets the bar for customer service! He was so helpful in making sure that everything was perfect for our trip; from helping us with activities, planning, repairs, etc. BOOK THIS PLACE!!

The house, pool and grounds are beautiful! The reason we booked this place was easy access (stairs) down to the beach and those who did not wish to challenge the stairs could still see the others playing down on the beach and in the surf. The pool is perfect for this setting. In addition, the concierge provided perfect service and helped us book a chef and massages right there at the house - We could have stayed right there and not ventured out as everything we needed was right there - Thank you!

This is a special place. The gated property is quite large, and the house is perched on a hillside overlooking the ocean. If you have a large group, you can really spread out here and enjoy all the house and grounds have to offer. We'll likely return in the future. Pros - 2 housekeepers clean the house and launder all your dirty clothes/towels daily from 9AM to 2PM - 2 groundskeepers perform daily maintenance to the grounds, pool, and exterior living spaces - 1 armed security guard monitors the grounds each night between 6PM and 6AM... although the area does not feel unsafe - The bedrooms are spacious, and each has an adjoining bathroom with shower... beds are comfortable - The ACs in the bedrooms work great, and all rooms have fans to keep the air moving - A golf cart is available to rent for the week which makes daily trips to Playa Flamingo easy and enjoyable - The outdoor living spaces and infinity pool offer truly stunning views that you'll likely never forget - The beach is beautiful, private, and accessible via steps at the rear of the property... the water is clean and clear Cons - Road access is not great, but it's consistent with the area and acceptable - Only the bedrooms and TV room are air-conditioned... meaning all the doors and windows in the common areas have to be opened each day to allow air to circulate - Climbing the many stairs up and down to the beach is not feasible for someone with mobility challenges... that may include anyone overweight or elderly

We cannot say enough how much we appreciated and enjoyed our vacation at Playa Flamingo. The house was just beautiful and so comfortable. The house looks just like the pictures. Our house keepers made sure we had breakfast fruit ready each day,it was delicious. The whole house was spotless each day. The pool and gardens were cleaned and kept up each day. We spent a lot of time in the pool,it was amazing.
Diego helped with questions with the house and schedules for adventures we wanted to do.
Elmer was on the job every nite and was a real joy to have around. He was right there when we needed him to help with a minor repair.
Chef Luis made us two wonderful meals, one was for our 50th anniversary. The seabass,and Mahi-mahi was incredible. The next meal was chefs choice for local food. Again, the meal was outstanding. We highly recommend having Chef Luis cook a meal, no one will be disappointed.
If we return to Costa Rica, would stay here again!

We had a great stay at Flamingo Blu. Gorgeous property and Location. Views at sunset are great. Beach is fantastic with fewer people compared to most public beaches, especially at the end near the property. Good snorkeling right in front of the house. Would recommend getting the WhatsApp App as email communication is sometimes slow, but was prompt once I communicated via WhatsApp. We did 2 fishing excursions, had family photos taken on the beach, had a private chef and did an excusion in the jungle, and most of the communication was via WhatsApp, and Diego, our concierge liason, arranged most of that for us. Would do it all over again.

This is by far the most expensive rental I've ever gotten, but we had a large party and it was definitely worth it. The house is gorgeous in photos, but even more breath taking in person. Every room had a view and you could hear the ocean. I didn't even realize all of the services that were included like the night guard and cleaning. They even washed our dirty clothes which was a total surprise to all of us, but much appreciated. The check in was easy enough, however, the road to get to the house was a bit treacherous - especially as it started pouring when we were within 30 minutes. At 2 different spots the road was literally completely under water and we basically had to drive through a creek. We were fortunate that a man with wadding boots just happened to be at the first spot and directed us across. So definitely recommend having 4 wheel drive if you are renting a car. The beach looked great for surfing, but the waves were a bit too much to try to snorkel.

This was by far the best vacation I've had. The house was amazing. From the view to cleanliness (house keeping staff was wonderful) you could not ask for more. Perfect environment for relaxing and entertaining. The staff at Stay In Tamarindo Cris and Diego are the best. Between the two of them they arranged everything for my trip from a chef, tours, transportation and even spa services. Not to mention Cris was available at all times to arrange everything and anything that was needed. When I return to CR, I will book with them again including staying this vacation rental, thats how amazing the house is. Looking forward to my next vacation with Tamarindo.

This home is absolutely incredible. It's perched just above the shoreline with spectacular views both day and night. We made use of the outdoor dining room and several shaded, ocean facing terraces on a daily basis. The house will effortlessly accommodate nine adults. Diego, our concierge, went above and beyond to ensure our stay included many thrilling, but safe, adventures. We highly recommend the surfing lessons at Playa Grande that he personally arranged. The house and grounds staff were friendly and accommodating. The interior and exterior were managed daily. We created fantastic memories here at Flamingo Blu. I expect it will be something not soon forgotten. Thank you!

Flamingo Blu is paradise in Playa Flamingo!!!! This home's design is absolutely gorgeous with well thought out beautiful and comfortable decor and furnishings. We are a family of 9 ranging from 20 to 80 and all enjoyed everything this home had to offer. Steps away from the white sands of the beach and an easy walk to restaurants. The beautiful infinity pool where we could lounge in the sun or relax in the shade on one of the covered terraces. Our concierge, Diego, was a wonderful asset and always available when I had a question. He also managed and set up several activities for us. The housekeepers and groundskeepers were very kind and respectful. They also made themselves available for anything that we asked! This house is one of the best we’ve stayed and worth every penny. The bedrooms have A/C split units which is great. The infinity pool has such a phenomenal view and the steps down to the beach are quick and easy. Biggest downside: it would have been nice to have some beach equipment available like chairs or umbrella but the boogie board was great

Our stay at Flamingo Blu was better than we could have ever expected. The pictures are incredible, but the home itself is even more amazing in real life. The housekeepers and groundskeepers were an added bonus and an absolute delight. Diego was so helpful and informative in helping to arrange our excursions and transportation, as well as meet us at checkin and answer any questions while we were there. Take the five minute beach walk to Coco Loco for food and drinks…you won't regret it! I would absolutely recommend this beautiful property to anyone. Thank you for a great stay!

The house, the beach, the people make this one beautiful place to unwind and relax. We were so happy to hang and enjoy the view, take in beach walks and the area restaurants. The property is so well managed and you can get help to do anything you want. While the steps to the beach total 133 it was not a problem ( would be for older generation though). A short drive would work for those not wanting to do the steps I can’t say enough good things about this house- it’s stunning! We were a multiple generational family from infant to 60 and everyone loved it.

Architectural delight. This home was perfect for our family. We needed at least 4 bedrooms with in-suite bathroom. What was a pleasant surprise was how well designed this house was not only for privacy but for airflow through the house. With the breeze from the ocean plus ceiling fans, you do not need air-conditioning. The outside covered spaces all have ceiling fans. So nice to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Our family celebrated my husband's 60th birthday in Costa Rica at Flamingo Blu. First, let me begin by stating not ONE of the website pictures can describe the absolute peaceful, beauty, relaxing and just fabulous experience we had at Flamingo Blu! Words actually can not describe our experience. We booked through Marriott Villas and Homes, gaining points for our Marriott rewards. Immediately, we were give Diego's email and began working with him. I highly recommend following these steps to reserve. Be sure to follow each item Diego gives you! The home is fully equipped with all items you would need. Security guards are there around the clock, so there was never a fear of safety. Each day two house cleaners came and took care of everything that was needed, even up to washing your clothes if you liked. The home has three king bedrooms with air conditions, a kid's room with air conditioning, in the main house upstairs all with their own bathrooms. There is an additional half bath, and a media room with air conditioning. There is an additional bedroom with full bath downstairs next to the pool area. We had three families and three children ages 3 and 1/2 along with two babies ages 15 & 16 months. The living area and kitchen are NOT air conditioned, which was no problem as there is a breeze when the windows and doors are opened. The little ones did get hot after lunch and they needed to be in the air conditioned areas. The media room worked great or their bedrooms for naps. The ocean view from all areas is phenomenal! What I mean by that is the master bedroom, the porch, living area, and poolside are breathtaking! Diego took care of our every needed! He booked ups a vehicle for emergencies, that we never used, but the thousand dollars was peace of mind with the little ones! We did use the golf cart- 6 seater, which I highly recommend! We went downtown and to both beaches daily and sometimes three times a day! Diego was able to reserve pack and plays for the little ones, high chairs and car seats! I suggest doing this if you are traveling with little ones so you don't have to check them! The quality of the baby gear was excellent! Diego also connected us with fishing guides, CR Fishing Charters-Jon & Shawn-fluent English, and chef prepared catches of the day with The Grill Masters - Diane & Hernan-amazing prepared food!! Highly, highly recommend CR Fishing! We took two trips, one a half day and one a full day and caught both days and hauled it in on the full day! Full Day is recommended over half day!! Jon and Shawn were great to work with for the fishing trip! We got to the location next to the marina by the golf cart! We also had massages and dinner reservations at Angelina's all booked through Diego! One of the little ones got sick, and Diego got us a visit by a physician who was educated in the United States and spoke fluent English as well! We were grateful for Dr. Diego, different Diego, who got our little one well. Even got medicine at the pharmacy in town, also by golf cart! The only one consideration I would have of Flamingo Blu would be the steps down to to the beach. It is extremely steep and a long long way down. The pictures on the website do not show this. We handled it well, but it was tricky with two babies and a toddler. Especially with the gear required for little ones at the beach. DO NOT LET this one con deter you from booking this home!!! Truly, it is something you can overcome! We truly had the trip of a lifetime and hope to go back with our family maybe in 5 to 10 years. My family of 11 just returned from a week at Flamingo Blu. We had a fantastic time! The house was so peaceful and the flow of the house was wonderful. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the breeze and sounds of nature. The housekeepers and groundkeepers were fantastic, and made our stay extract enjoyable. Diego, the concierge, was incredibly kind always asking us if we needed anything. We would absolutely return. We loved Flamingo Beach and the house was great.

My family of 11 just returned from a week at Flamingo Blu. We had a wonderful time, and have nothing but wonderful memories from the week! We loved the area, the calmness of the house, the housekeepers and groundkeepers were wonderful. Diego the concierge went out of his way to make sure we had anything we needed. A few minor upgrades on appliances would benefit, but don't worry, there are many stoves and refrigerators in case one is on the fritz! We loved Flamingo Blu! The staff accommodated my husbands Alpha Gal Allergy! The place was immaculate! We slept so good each night listening to the waves! The walk to the beach is literally just steps to sand. The pool is too die for. We are coming back to Flamingo Blu someday! Diego was always a text away and my translate app helped me speak perfectly to all of the staff! What a wonderful Spring Break 2022!! We saw all the animals expected and the tour guide that you book thru Diego can actually customize your own adventure for the day! We went to see Sloth & Frogs and the Blue River and a waterfall all in one day with Eddie! The surf lessons were very upscale because my kids had one surf instructor to the 3 of them instead of a huge class! The fishing trip was great because they cooked our fish that night at the villa & last but not least was the Lizard yacht excursion at sunset that we had all to ourselves!

We weren’t sure exactly what to expect when we booked Flamingo Blu for a long weekend for our friends wedding. Of course we saw the pictures but everyone agreed that the photos, as beautiful as they are, don't do the home justice. The views from everywhere while you are walking through the house are absolutely stunning. There is a flow to the home that feels so open and airy. Just a simple walk from the kitchen down to the pool area is a whole moment in itself. There’s just so much to soak up. The AC worked great in all the bedrooms and there is a lovely breeze that travels throughout the house during the day so its very comfortable all the time. We were never hot, even outside by the pool. Something about the placement of the property on the cliff overlooking the ocean makes the temperature seem to be perfect all the time. It’s a short walk down to the beautiful beach on a private little trail so you could easily pop down there. There were no inferior bedrooms. They’re all special in their own way. Everyone love their rooms. Beds were comfortable and the rooms felt cozy and private while also being spacious enough and airy. There were a bunch of little seating areas all over the inside and outside so you felt like you were always together but also able to slip away to enjoy a moment alone or with a smaller group. One day a few of our friends who were staying in different houses came by and everyone agreed they hadn’t seen any home that came close to ours. I honestly don't think I would want to stay anywhere else in Costa Rica. They really hit all the marks. Also, the staff were all amazing. From the cleaners who made the place spotless every morning after we would go to bed with glasses left everywhere and plates in the sink (they also did our laundry for us throughout the stay without even having to be asked to), to the concierge team (Adriana, Cris, Diego, and Christian) who made themselves available to us day and night to help with anything we needed and were enthusiastically happy to do so. They also introduced me to a chef team, Diana and Hernan who we booked for 2 dinners who were incredible and completely reasonable. So friendly and hospitable. They made our evenings so special. They even did breakfast shopping for us so we would have food for our first morning before we went out. Just google grillmaster506.com in Tamarindo. One great thing about the house as well is that there is a chefs kitchen detached from the main part of the home so while the chefs are working you can be in the main kitchen making cocktails and not in their way. We felt very safe there as well with the security guard over night and the tourist police station a couple doors down. As long as this review is, there are still about 20 other positives I could ramble on about. I’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals and this one definitely takes the cake. If its available, book it immediately before someone else gets it. You wont be disappointed. Thank you all so much for making such a comfortable and memorable trip for us. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the pictures don’t do this place justice. If you are looking at the pictures and awestruck by them like we were, wait until you walk into the house. Every detail was thought of and meticulously addressed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the views were immaculate, and the vibes unrivaled.
This was truly an amazing experience for all of our group, and I couldn’t recommend this house more. This house will comfortably sleep your party of 10.

Wonderful space that is convenient to everything yet secluded enough to be a real get away. The sunrises over the palm trees with howler monkeys announcing the dawn is only topped by the sunset over the infinity pool and the ocean beyond. We loved the healthy walks on the ocean and coming back to fresh cut mango and papaya for a healthy lunch on the breezy terrace. Hope to go back soon.

A truly beautiful, tranquil experience at this home! Beach access is just a short walk down steps located at the rear of the property, and the pool at the home is just right! Daily housekeeping and grounds maintenance included - we especially adored the staff here - helpful, friendly and efficient. The house was cleaned top to bottom daily, and each room has its own air conditioning unit which made sleeping very comfortable.
Highly recommend chef Roy as well, he came recommended by the staff and prepared on site one of the best grass fed sirloin steak dinners we have ever had!
Only "downside" here is that there are not a lot of restaurant or nightlife choices easily accessible, but that was not an issue for us as we prepared most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen after making one grocery store run early in the week.
We would go back again! Overall, 5 stars for this peaceful retreat.

Absolutely gorgeous house that has been recently renovated- the pictures do not do this place justice! The house is situated perfectly so that we could enjoy amazing views of the ocean horizon and beach below, while enjoying privacy and quiet away from the crowds. We loved enjoying beautiful sunsets nightly from the pool area, and ate lunch daily at delicious Coco Loco Restaurant which is just a five minute walk down the beach. I would also highly recommend renting gold carts; we had so much fun exploring the nearby villages and beaches in the afternoons. The cleaning staff and our cook, Carla, did an absolutely wonderful job. We would have, however, liked better and more accurate communication from management company.
