Crystal Sands Penthouse 504

The property lived up to our expectations. The views were stunning! The title pools on the shore were absolutely amazing, our kids couldn’t get enough of watching the sea urchins, crabs and beautiful tropical fish that were right there to watch until the tide came in. The security team were polite and courteous, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The location was also excellent. There were multiple places to eat and buy groceries with in a short walking distance and a fabulous restaurant right across the street. The main beach was also a short walk away. We also loved the local cat, Crystal, who was there to greet us every time we ventured to it from the property. Cristina, our concierge, was amazing and super responsive to every question that we had about what to do and who to rent from. She also saved us from a stressful situation when we accidentally locked the passports in the room safe. She helped get it unlocked in no time. totally would stay at the property again.

Absolutely stunning! Do yourself a favor and book this place. Take in the views with your favorite beverages and swim in the pool with your kiddos. Very secure and very friendly staff all around. I would absolutely return.

We enjoyed our stay in Crystal Sands 504. The unit was even better than the pictures on the website! It is very spacious and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was great. Our favorite feature was the fantastic balcony (balconies) with the amazing view of the ocean and surrounding area! There was always a nice breeze and we watched some beautiful sunsets! As others have mentioned, the hot tub was a disappointment as it would not get up to temperature. The grounds and pool were well maintained and the pool was never crowded. The staff at Crystal Sands were helpful and friendly. Chris, our concierge, helped to make everything flow easily and she was always available to answer any question. We enjoyed the quiet location and it was only 1 mile from busy Tamarindo. The beach is not a swimming place as it is very rocky, but at low tide it is ok to walk to a sandy beach and even into town.

We enjoyed our stay at this Airbnb. Cristina was very helpful throughout our stay. The location is about a mile from Tamarindo and we rented a golf cart for our stay. The beach is rocky at the waterline (water shoes) but a short walk south on the beach at low tide opened up a nice sandy area in the midst of the rocks for swimming/snorkeling. The unit is very spacious and had everything we needed. There are some shortcuts for some of the appliances: The jacuzzi jets have several control panels. Use the white box for the jets. The wall oven/microwave was not working but they have provided countertop replacements and I found the dishwasher sometimes only turns on when heated drying button is not selected (default). It was very quiet except for a wedding on the beach Saturday night. The AC and overhead fans were great, beds comfortable, plentiful towels and portable beach chairs provided. The upstairs master suite is very luxurious too.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Crystal Sands!! The house was spacious and had all the kitchen gadgets needed! Cris was fantastic and always prompt in responding to any questions we had. If you book excursions (which I highly recommend), please request Oscar for your driver!!! He was so knowledgeable about the area and super friendly and fun to be around! The only issue I would advise visitors about is the elevator...I would not expect it to be operational. We enjoyed getting in our daily "steps", but if anyone is unable to use the stairs, I would recommend booking a ground floor room. I also was quite impressed with the security guards at the front gate...super friendly and always available to assist us:)

We stayed at the property from 5/27 - 6/1 for a family vacation to celebrate several college graduations, and as a hub to access the beautiful beaches in the area. The property is on the 5th floor (Penthouse Level), and has one of the most magnificient views in Tamarindo. You can watch the waves roll in all day from the balcony, and the evening thunderstorms were amazing. You can walk out the back gate, take a few steps, and you're in the sand. It's not really a swimming beach, but wonderful for walking and exploring the coast. Tamarindo beach is a 25-30 minute walk, though we chose to drive to tranport chairs, boards, etc. Each room has AC, which provides a welcome relief from the heat and humidity. The property manager Cristina was very responsive to our needs and communicated very well with checking in and checking out. It's a great spot away from the craziness of downtown Tamarindo. *Note the property is on the 5th floor and the elevator was only working 2 of the 6 days we were there. Luckily it was working when we checked in, but it was either under maintenence or not working the rest of the trip. Just a warning for elderly or hauling groceries/luggage up, as it was an inconvenience. Otherwise, the view from the balcony (and upstairs shower) makes you forget about the steps. We would return to this spot in the future.

Fantastic condo! Extremely spacious, well appointed, nice linens. The highlight of this space is location. The views from the multiple balconies are incredible! You can walk right out to the beach, which is rocky, but still accessible. There are a few restaurants within walking distance and more within a short drive. We loved the space and would definitely return.

The property was perfect. Two parking spaces right downstairs, with such an incredible view to wake up and fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves and just a walk down the beach to one of the best local surf breaks. Our son enjoyed searching the rocks for crabs and snails at low tide and jumping in the surf just down the road at the national park. We had a fantastic time and loved the location just a few minutes away from downtown - but close enough to zip to town for sunset on the beach in tamarindo and fantastic dinners every night. Hope to visit again someday!

We simply had a wonderful stay. Being close to Playa Tamarindo, but staying on Playa Langosta seemed to give us the best of both worlds... Activities and Restaurants around the point... Quiet and tide pools out our front door. The unit itself was wonderful... We spent most of our time on the outdoor deck/lanai area... Both levels have spectacular views. Every single person we dealt with from the staff at Stay In Tamarindo, to those who cleaned weekly, to the security and maintenance staff at the Crystal Sands Condominiums were all simply wonderful. Costa Rica, Playa Langosta, and Crystal Sands #504 are all happy places. I already, genuinely miss my days there.

Best views in Tamarindo. Beds were all comfortable, AC worked well, furnishings were comfortable and not old. Balcony was big (I did yoga in the mornings while my husband read). We all loved to sit on the balcony. The shoreline directly in front of the complex is rocky, so there aren't any swimmers, just a few people walking along the beach. This is nice because it's not crowded. It is a 10 minute walk around the rocks to get to Langosta beach that is better for swimming and sitting. The apartment has 4 Tommy Bahama chairs to use on the beach. The condo complex is very well maintained. Our biggest problem was a problem with Wifi connection to the TV to access Netflix, and the hot tub on the Master Bedroom balcony never heated up and was dirty. Kitchen supplies were new, and there was costa rican coffee already in the cupboard. If I recall correctly, the coffee filter does not need paper filters. There are 2 parking spots for this apartment underground. We would love to stay at this complex again, and this penthouse is very nice (even though it felt too big).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Crystal Sands in unit 504, there were only 2 couples so it actually was much bigger than we needed but I can see how the space would work well with 3 couples and a few kids. We had a chef come in and they were at home in the spacious kitchen and there were multiple places for us to dine in the unit, I believe 4 in total, (2 inside 2 outside) which was nice. I will note that the elevator in the building went out twice which renders this the least desirable unit with 5 flights of steps back to ground level.....HOWEVER things happen and we do not hold this against the renter but just a coincidental, local building issue. Having worked in hotels for 16 years I can say that it happens everywhere and this building actually has a very nice (ThyssenKrupp) elevator so do not let that deter you from booking, just our bad luck and possibly related to a power outage that impacted the whole area. There was a great sense of security at this unit as everything was gated . The pool was in the front of the building so no water view but it actually gets the morning sun was it was perfect for swimming and tanning before lunch and venturing out for the day. There is a walkway leading from the back gate (secure with code) through nice gardens with an area to sit in lounge chairs and watch the sunset before getting to the beach which is RIGHT THERE. Note this is a rocky beach but a great place to watch the tide splash as it rolls in, get your feet wet and collect LOTS of cool shells and rocks, also a short walk around the point from Tamarindo which is perfect for swimming and surfing. All in all this was a great experience and Adriana and Chris made everything feel like we had a concierge in that they were very prompt with getting back to us for our needs (golf cart rental, dinner reservations, chef, etc). Having spent my whole career in Hospitality I can say they have it figured out. A+ would suggest!

I can’t express enough how beautiful the penthouse condo was. It was perfectly described and we had everything we needed. The furniture was comfy. The balcony views were jaw dropping. We loved watching the sunset. The concierge service was extremely helpful with everything we needed and was very responsive. You can access the beach on property but it’s quite rocky. Beautiful though. We were thankful for the 4 beach chairs available. If you plan on spending time in Tamarindo (going to eat, bars, etc) I highly recommend getting a golf cart.

This penthouse condo was stunning. The photos did not do it justice. We took our 4 grown children for a family vacation. Each evening we walked the beach and enjoyed the spectacular sunsets with a happy hour on one of the two huge decks overlooking the ocean. During the day or evenings, we walked into Tarmarindo for adventures and great seafood. We all voted it our best vacation yet, and we have taken many!! Thank you!

We walked in most evenings for dinner and had no issues. You can choose to walk on the roads or, when the tide is out, you can walk the whole way on the beach. Tamarindo itself has plenty of restaurants and cafes (Breaking Bread is a MUST go to). If like us you want to learn to surf there are plenty of options. The place is enormous so plenty of room if you're traveling as a large group. The kitchen is also well equipped so cooking meals is easy. The bedrooms are large and the beds are really comfortable. The master has a bathroom with a shower which has to win the award for Shower-With-A-View award. Finally everyone who manages the property is super helpful. Adrianna, was so helpful, as was our concierge who helped us plan some adventures (we can highly recommend the catamaran/snorkeling day out). We liked it so much we extended our stay and we're already planning our return trip!

The place is huge! It’s super fancy and the communication was easy and fast (it works better through email or whatsapp/call but pretty good) they have an office in tamarindo so you can step by if you can’t contact them using the other options.
We had some small inconveniences during our stay but they quickly fixed all of them.
The view in the balconies is super nice, we were lucky and the full moon over the sea was lovely.

Penthouse 504 at Crystal Sands was absolutely amazing. Every detail of our stay was outstanding. The 2-story penthouse has the most incredible views and it is huge!! We loved having the two large balconies with such amazing views and have breakfast every day overlooking the surf. The location was perfect, beach front, just a 5 minute drive to Tamarindo, on a nice residential area where the most upscale properties in the area are. Everything in the property is in immaculate shape and the property manager (Stay in Tamarindo) does a beautiful job maintaining it. The owners have ensured that the property is fully equipped with fresh linens, plenty of towels, great wifi and a gourmet kitchen. The complex is safe with underground parking and with friendly security staff 24/7. Our group of 8 had the time of our lives. Transportation, golf carts, excursions and chef services were precisely arranged by the concierge team. There were so patient with us and we are so grateful for all of their help! This was our first visit to Tamarindo but won't be our last, we are already planning to come back next year and stay at Penthouse 504!! Thank you so much!
