Casa Howler

Our stay at Casa Howler was better than we ever could have imagined for our group of six! The house is absolutely stunning and was the perfect size for our group. It would also comfortably accommodate a group of eight. The heated pool was a huge bonus—we used it every single day! Working with our concierge, Adriana, was an absolute dream, especially for someone like me who is very Type A when it comes to planning a trip! We communicated almost daily leading up to our stay, and anytime I needed additional assistance, she was incredibly responsive. She helped us coordinate numerous excursions and transportation throughout the week, and everything ran flawlessly. From our airport pickup and shuttles to excursions, food, housekeeping, and any service or maintenance at the house, not a single thing was delayed. Every driver and staff member we encountered was timely, friendly, and attentive. We were picked up promptly at the airport, and the entire ride and arrival at the villa were seamless. I also highly recommend renting a golf cart! The villa is walkable to downtown, but having the golf cart made getting around so much easier and ended up being one of our favorite ways to explore. We loved having access to the beach club resort and especially loved being able to arrange surf lessons through the resort. It was such a great addition to the experience. Our housekeeper, Pamela, was also fantastic. We felt completely spoiled having her there to maintain the house, take care of laundry, keep the kitchen clean, handle dishes, and generally make everything feel effortless throughout our stay. We upgraded to the Elite Premium Package so we could have breakfast prepared every day, and the breakfasts were delicious! I would absolutely recommend the upgrade. I’d also recommend stopping at Auto Mercado for some quick groceries, snacks, and alcohol to keep at the villa. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about this trip. The villa itself was incredible, but the level of service and coordination surrounding the entire experience is what really made our stay exceptional. Everything was easy, organized, and seamless from beginning to end. My family and I will be grateful for these memories forever. We would absolutely stay at Casa Howler again and cannot recommend it enough!

Beautiful house. There’s a separate guest house that has two levels. My teenagers each had their own space, they loved that. The housekeeper is present during the day and is very friendly. The neighborhood is in a gated community, you feel very safe.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Howler and absolutely loved our time in Tamarindo. The house is beautiful, spacious, very clean, and comfortable—exactly what we were hoping for for our Costa Rica vacation.The outdoor area and pool were definitely highlights. It was wonderful to come back after a day of exploring and relax by the pool surrounded by the beautiful tropical setting and wildlife.Having access to Langosta Beach Club was also a huge plus. The beach is stunning, and we really enjoyed spending time there, relaxing by the ocean and enjoying great food.The location was perfect for discovering the area. We explored beautiful and more secluded beaches, enjoyed the incredible wildlife and nature of Costa Rica, and had excellent meals at local restaurants. Tamarindo is a great destination with so much to see and do.Finally, Adriana was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and extremely helpful both before and during our stay. She helped us with recommendations and activities and was always available when we had questions.We left with wonderful memories of Casa Howler, Tamarindo, and Costa Rica. We would happily stay here again and definitely recommend it to other travelers!

Home was beautiful and access to beach club was awesome. House maid was great and made us breakfast everyday. Home had two king bedrooms in main structure and two more in a separate structure next to pool. This works well with multiple families or teenagers, but I wouldn’t put little kids in separate structure by themselves. Overall I’d highly recommend and would come back.

The house was conveniently located close to town—about a 10-minute walk downhill or a quick drive—and had plenty of space for our group. We enjoyed the pool at the house and spent a lot of time at the beach club as well. There were several great restaurants within a 5–10 minute drive, and we were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get Ubers.
Pamela was fantastic, keeping us stocked with cocktails and snacks throughout the day and making sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Adriana our concierge was very helpful assisting us with both checking in and checking out. She also arranged for our shuttle to and from the airport as well as several tours during our visit. She worked very diligently for our family and her choice of who to book the tours with was invaluable. She's the best. Adriana also recommended the best guides for our tours, Andres and Giovanni. They were incredibly fun, knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and knew where to find the wildlife. He also gave us some real insight to the Costa Rican and indigenous life. Our villa was kept clean daily and Pamela was friendly and very good about keeping the place clean and tidy. She's also a very good cook.I would recommend any family staying in Tamarindo to consider the Villa Howler.

Casa Howler — Five Stars We just wrapped up a weeklong stay at Casa Howler, and it was nothing short of magical. Our group was four couples on a parents-only getaway, and this place delivered on every front. The location is ideal, in a gated community that’s close enough to town to feel convenient without sacrificing privacy. We walked occasionally, but mostly got around via golf carts that were pre-delivered right to the property, which made exploring Tamarindo effortless and fun. The house itself looked exactly like the photos and felt very high-end. It’s beautifully constructed, impeccably clean, and genuinely spacious for a group of eight. The open-concept layout is one of its best features: the kitchen and living area flow seamlessly into the outdoor lounge and pool, so everyone could be together without feeling on top of each other. It struck the perfect balance between communal and comfortable. Each couple also had their own king bedroom with a private en suite bathroom and generous closet space, so there was plenty of room to retreat and recharge. One honest note: all four beds are on the firmer side. It took a night or two to adjust, but it was a minor trade-off for an otherwise exceptional space. Our private maid, Pamela, was an absolute gem. She was warm and unobtrusive, kept the house spotless, and prepared delicious food throughout our stay, a genuine highlight of the trip. We also took advantage of the pre-arrival grocery service through Pangas, which we’d strongly recommend. We intentionally kept our order modest, yet more food than expected arrived, we assume because they source whatever deals are available from local markets with the budget you provide. We actually got through most of the food and whatever you don’t finish will be offered to the workers so it doesn’t go to waste. The concierge, Adriana, was responsive and helpful during the planning process, which made the lead-up to the trip smooth and stress-free. Beyond the house itself, the surrounding area is wonderful. We spent a day at the private Langosta Beach Club, which is included in the Air Bnb package and it was a highlight — beautiful pool, great beach access, and we rented a cabana for the day and fully committed to doing absolutely nothing. Highly recommend. The restaurant scene in town is also excellent, with plenty of variety to choose from. The spots we visited had great food, cool vibes, and that laid-back coastal charm that makes Tamarindo so appealing. There are also some lovely shops worth browsing if you’re after souvenirs or local finds. Overall, Casa Howler is an outstanding choice especially for the value. The space is spectacular, the location is unbeatable, and it gave us the best of both worlds: the energy of a fun beach town and the privacy of our own little retreat. We’d come back in a heartbeat!!

4 couples on a parents-only trip—Casa Howler delivered on every front. In a gated community close to town, we got around via pre-delivered golf carts, making Tamarindo effortless to explore.
The house matched the photos: high-end, spotless, and spacious for eight. The open-concept kitchen, living area, and pool flowed seamlessly, communal but never cramped. Each couple had a king bedroom and private en suite. Only note: the beds are quite firm and take a night or two to adjust.
Pamela, our private maid, was warm, unobtrusive, kept the house spotless, and cooked delicious food. The pre-arrival Pangas grocery service is a must—we ordered modestly and received plenty. Concierge Adriana made planning smooth and stress-free.
Langosta Beach Club (included!) was a highlight—beautiful pool, great beach, and a full cabana day well spent. Town has excellent restaurants, great vibes, and lovely shops.
Spectacular space, unbeatable location and price! We’d return in a heartbeat!​​​​

We stayed at Casa Howler with our two children and another family with a child (all under 5). This house could easily fit another couple with a young child. First, Adriana was our concierge and was beyond helpful and responsive. She helped arrange transport, a spa day and an excursion that was age appropriate for our littles. She also got us in touch with a private chef that came in to make us dinner- don’t miss this! Pamela was our housekeeper who also made breakfast, lunch and snacks. She was so gracious and unimposing. The house has all the amenities you can think of and is brand new. It’s a quick walk into town- exactly .5 miles and is near a grocery store and an awesome food truck park. It also includes access to a beach club that has a small gym - make a reservation for the gym as it is very busy and doesn’t open till 8. We will absolutely be back!

We recently stayed at Casa Howler in June and had an amazing experience! Once we drove up, Adriana (the property manager) met us at the house to show us around and explain the amenities which was such a warm welcome! The house is stunning and is well-stocked! We were able to have all our breakfasts and dinners at the house with all the necessary kitchen accessories available! There were plenty of rooms and bathrooms for everyone in our party of 6 to be comfortable! Pamela was a gem! She was so pleasant and helped keep the house clean and even made an amazing Costa Rican breakfast for us one day! This was such a great find and I would love to visit again!

The Casa Howler house was amazing - absolutely stunning and very spacious! The layout was perfect for our 2 families (4 adults and 3 teen boys) with 2 bedrooms in the house for the teens and detached upper level and lower level units for the adults. Casa Howler was clean, well stocked and had comfortable beds. The pool and back patio were a hit as well! And, the service was equally amazing! Adriana was extremely responsive and accommodating, as was Pamela who would have cleaned the house, cooked breakfast/made drinks and even would have done laundry for us every day but unfortunately we figured that out toward the end of our stay. I highly recommend you stay at Casa Howler if your traveling to Tamarindo.

First off the house was spacious and very comfortable. They outdoor casitas were fun for our teenagers, however they were hard to understand the locks and made us parents a little uneasy at first until Adriana sent a video on how to work them from the inside. They are doing a ton of construction in tamarindo for houses and resorts, and our location seemed to be on the middle of it, but you could hear nothing from inside the house and even being outside the noise was not annoying and it was not an eye sore. The vegetation cut down the noise and the site on the construction. Pamela was our chef and house cleaner. She doesn’t speak any English, but she was fantastic. Google helps those conversations. For those of you thinking tamarindo is secluded and not touristy—not the case. It was busy and it’s expensive. We took complete advantage of the beach club that comes with the rental of the house and it was great. Beautiful and the beach was never busy or crowded to feel like we were on top of others. Overall it was a great vacation.

Everything was as described. I’m glad we rented a vehicle. The walk to town was much farther than described on a dirt road. I would not have liked to walk it in the humidity. The AC unit in casita 1 (first floor) went out and Adriana was super responsive and offered to get it fixed in 30 minutes. The staff made breakfast every morning with the groceries provided. It was a great experience!

La casa esta muy bonita y con espacios abiertos muy padres y acorde a las fotos. Sin embargo por las fechas no se puede tener las puertas abiertas a la terraza por los insectos.
La cocina esta muy bien equipada.

We had the time of our lives staying at Casa Howler! The property is stunning and so well taken care of! It is the perfect place to stay as a couple for a private, calm experience but also doubles as an amazing option for a larger group of family/friends with the casitas on the property as well! The vibe and atmosphere is exactly what you want in a little beach town and it is close enough to everything to be able to walk just about anywhere you'd like to go! This was our first trip to Costa Rica. We traveled with our children and parents. The house was much more than we expected, incredibly clean and comfortable. In addition to that, we had Adriana, she was amazing and arranged for our transportation, helped us grocery prestocking and assisted with the best activities in Tamarinda. She checked in on us to make sure everyone was well and had everything needed and she was a big factor in how wonderful our vacation turned out. We spent a week at Casa Howler in Tamarindo through Stay in Tamarindo. The House was exceptional, better than advertised. It was spacious, well-maintained, and had everything you would need. Adriana immediately took care of any minor issues we had. She was responsive and checked in with us throughout the trip. This was a great place to stay in Tamarindo. Very comfortable and spacious. Great pool. Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Many AC units and fans, we felt very cool in the heat. There was a storm and we lost power in two of the rooms, we contacted the host and she immediately sent two maintenance workers who fixed the problem. We appreciated the quick responses and helping us with all we needed. Walkable but driving to the beach is probably best, it can get very dark at night. It was a bit noisy in the area because of some construction going on. Still, the location is great and is close to everything. Overall a great experience and would consider staying again my next time in Tamarindo.

Cannot say enough great things about Casa Howler. We were four adults and four children. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything (air fryer, Nespresso, coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, Tupperware, full knife block, glasses for EVERY beverage imaginable [champagne, red wine, white wine, margaritas, beer, high ball, scotch, and drinking water] only missing a potato/carrot peeler…and I’m sure they’ll add that!). Built-in gas grill with out door wine fridge. PLENTY of towels (bath, pool, and beach for every person!). Two FULL bedroom in the side house with separate A/C each that cool quickly and offer amazing views. Regular house hold two bedrooms each with separate A/C. 100% privacy. Can’t see another person. 100% security and safety (with the garage door and locked gate access there was NEVER a concern). Short walk or golf cart ride to the main strip. Attentive and responsive concierge service that was second to none. Booked yoga session at the house and catamaran (Manta Ray) out of Flamingo beach that I would recommend. Full laundry (bring or buy detergent). Great closets. WiFi throughout property. Amazing in-ground pool with water feature and outdoor shower. Stop any hesitation now and book!!!

Our family spent a week at this lovely house during Spring Break vacation. The house has 4 lovely bedroom suites - our grandsons thoroughly enjoy having their own separate quarters! The Kitchen was exceptionally well equipped! The pool area was perfect for spending time at during the course of the day. The development was a short distance from the town center and we rented a Golf Cart which was a great way to go back and forth! I would definitely recommend this property to extended families or multiple couples visiting this area!

Extremely professionally managed property that is equipped to a very high level way beyond many other similar priced properties. The house is well designed with lovely high ceilings and great layout and spacious feel. Development is still under construction, so some daytime building works nearby which has some impact but not too bad.

What a beautiful home! Everything was exactly as described in the listing and we would stay here again and again! I’m pretty particular about cleanliness and this home exceeded my expectations. A great layout for giving everyone their own space. The only negative would be the lack of internet service during our stay making watching TV not possible due to all TV’s being “smart TV’s “ only accessible through WiFi service. Since it rained heavily the first few days it made for very quiet evenings with no service. I would most definitely suggest renting a golf cart for trips into town. It wasn’t very far away but the roads were dirt and very very dark at night. The gentlemen that provided gate security were so friendly and helpful. If possible, remember them with a pizza or snacks as they work long hours. Do not hesitate in doing business with Stay in Tamarindo!

Amazing experience and stay in Tamarindo Park. The home is incredible, you never want to leave. Perfect location. Minutes away from main strip and restaurants.
Cris was an amazing host. Thanks for everything!
Look forward to visiting again =)
