Epic house and service for an amazing family vacation. Our concierge Cris worked hard to coordinate all our activities and bookings. Our housekeeper Kay was also exceptional, keeping everything clean, making amazing detox juices and great Cocktails. The whole vacation went smooth and worry free.

We had a family of nine members, all the rooms are incredibly large and comfortable with private baths. Maureen was our house Mom and we absolutely fell in love with her. The food she prepared was the best. Chris was incredibly helpful, planned all of our tours and trips with Private vans and was flexible. Everything was wonderful.

The property was amazing as was the staff! Our family of ten had all the comforts of a 5 star hotel but weee able to spend so much more quality time together sitting by the glorious pool, having breakfast all as a group prepared by a skilled cook and relaxed in the evenings conversing, playing games after a short walk into town. We would recommend this beautiful home 100%.

I’ve stayed in Tamarindo many many times and this is by far the best place I’ve stayed to date. Easy to find. Responsive host made sure we had everything we needed. The place was clean and fully equipped. Great layout and location close to everything. The pool is amazing, the staff is friendly. But the best thing for my group by far was our house mom Keylin. She was amazing and took great care of us. This is an A+ listing from top to bottom

What a house, what a location! We were 5 couples +1, and we never felt even a lilttle bit crowded. The house was spotless, comfortable, and tons of fun. Location is just perfect and close to town (although I highly recommend getting golf carts) but honestly you could spend all your time at the house and be perfectly content. We did have am issue with the water heater one day, but Cris and team had it fixed that day. Speaking pf which, Cris is amazing. So responsive and helpful, lean om her for local advice for sure! And Ani the housekeeper was incredible. I highly recommend having her whip up a traditional Costa Rican breakfast for your group, it's off the charts good. Can't speal highly enough of our stay and the great team that made it happen.

What a great find. After much research and internet searching, I decided on a place in Tamarindo for a month-long vacation. Cabana de Playa did not disappoint. Loved the house. Great layout. Beautiful property. Concierge Cris was fantastic. Very attentive and communicative. Great suggestions for where to go and what to do, including 2 different in-home chefs. House “mom” Ani was amazing. Kind and never without a smile on her face. Just pure sunshine. Resident outside cat Suki was entertaining. It was a great month with so many wonderful memories.

I had an absolutely amazing time at this property! From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. Cris was incredibly helpful—not just before our arrival but even after our stay, which made everything seamless and stress-free. Ani, our house mom, was truly a bundle of joy. Her warm presence and the way she kept the house in order made us feel cared for and comfortable every single day. Waking up to a delicious breakfast each morning was such a thoughtful and memorable touch.
The location of the house is unbeatable—secluded enough to feel completely private and peaceful, yet just an 8-minute walk down the hill puts you right in the heart of town. It was the perfect balance.
This trip wasn’t just a celebration for me—it became a core memory for all of us. I’m so grateful for the experience and everything this stay provided. Thank you for creating a space that we’ll remember and cherish for the rest of our lives. I absolutely recommend this stay.

We LOVED our stay at this amazing property!! There was plenty of room inside for our group of 12, but we spent basically all of our time outside enjoying the beautiful pool and terrace. The property was very clean, felt very safe, and was absolutely gorgeous, nestled up in the trees!! Cris was incredibly helpful and helped us schedule all sorts of things that made our stay feel extra special - a house mom who would make breakfast in the mornings, drinks and snacks in the afternoon and then clean up as well. Plus Cris helped us rent golf carts (it's a 10-15 minute walk into town and to the beach but the golf carts were just so fun!), as well as an Estuary Tour, Catamaran Sunset Cruise, chefs, and a family photographer to commemorate the grandparents' 50th anniversary celebration. We went all out for our special family celebration and it did not disappoint. I hope we can come back someday, we loved it all so much!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was at Cabana de Playa. First, Cris was incredibly helpful the entire time we were in Costa Rica. She made scheduling excursions very easy and was very knowledgable about everything Tamarindo and beyond. She’s very easy to get ahold of with any questions you could have. She’s a delight!! Our housemom Ani was absolutely INCREDIBLE. She’s an amazing cook, an excellent housekeeper and a complete sweetheart. She’s a joy to be around. Our first trip to Tamarindo was a success thanks to these 2 wonderful women. The house itself is fantastic. Great location, plenty of space and lots of beautiful wildlife right outside the door! We are already looking forward to returning and working with Cris and Ani again!

I can not say enough good things about Stay in Tamarindo. The staff and the house were absolutely amazing. Easy access to beach and restaurants. We even saw a monkey in the trees right by the house.

The place was very spacious and beautiful. 6 bedrooms all with a private bathroom, 2 kitchens each fully stocked and with half bathroom attached to each. Pool area was lovely and the pool was kept clean, upstairs patio was great as well although we did not use it much. Host takes security very seriously and we felt safe the entire time, when we accidentally triggered alarm system security was there to check on us within minutes. Chris was responsive and accommodating, she helped resolve any maintenance concerns swiftly. Annie was absolutely lovely and took amazing care of the house, kept it very clean for us and prepared delicious smoothies and snacks. I would say the only inconvenience was having limited access to laundry, only between 8-4 when Annie was around. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing, construction noise was minimal and did not disturb us much. Location is convenient and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and beach. Amazing space for a big group.

Cabana de Playa was as described and as expected - awesome! Our family of 11 had plenty of room and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Housemom Ani cooked wonderful breakfasts each weekday and responded promptly to all our needs. Although we never got to meet Cris while there, she was always available by cell, if we had questions or needed anything. Would definitely rent the house again for our family and would use the Stay in Tamarindo site and crew again! BTW, the private sunset catamaran cruise by Panache boats was FANTASTIC and the highlight of our week. OTOH, the kayak mangrove tour was longer and more strenuous than expected, and more bottled water was needed than what was provided by the guide. Lesson: bring your own!

We booked this home on a whim after our original resort fell short—and it turned out to be the best decision we made. The house is stunning, spacious, and perfect for a large group, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was the incredible team. Cris, the concierge, went above and beyond—helping us with transfers, private chefs, golf cart rentals, local restaurant recs, and more. She personally welcomed us, walked us through the property, and made every detail effortless. Ani, the house mom, was just as amazing—cooking delicious breakfasts, doing laundry, keeping everything spotless, and bringing such warmth and joy to each day. Thanks to them, what started as a stressful situation turned into the perfect celebration for my parents’ 50th anniversary. We felt so cared for, and every detail was handled with love. The property is amazing, but the people are what put it over the top. If you're visiting Tamarindo, this is the place. Don’t hesitate—you’ll be so glad you booked it!

We had nine girls stay in this beautiful home for five nights. It is exactly as advertised and is a beautiful place. Easy walking to restaurants and shopping. Ubers are available if needed. Cris is wonderful to work with and Ani the house mother is just amazing! We had Tamarindo Grill chef services come cook us a dinner one evening that was amazing. Cris set us up on a beautiful spa day at a gorgeous location. We did horseback riding on the beach and that was so much fun. I highly recommend this place.

An amazing place to stay in Tamarindo! The pool area is beautiful and a perfect place to spend the afternoon. We watched sunset from the roof top deck most nights and loved it. The service was beyond wonderful, Ani made us delicious breakfast and cocktails every day! She truly made the trip so special. It is perfect walking distance to Tamarindo and the beach! There is construction next door, it didn’t bother us but if you are a light sleeper just be aware of it. We would 100% stay here again and recommend it!

Our stay at this VRBO was absolutely fantastic! We had two families with teens, and the house was exactly as advertised — no surprises, just perfection.We rented golf carts, which made it a quick two-minute drive to town. While the walk is easy and totally doable, the carts were a fun and convenient touch. The outdoor space by the pool was a favorite hangout, and the rooftop deck? Perfect for watching sunsets.The house was spotless, and the beds were insanely comfortable — seriously, some of the best sleep we've had!Cris was incredible, taking care of all our excursions and even helping us adjust plans when things changed. She was incredibly responsive — if you reached out, you'd get a reply in seconds!And then there’s Ani... she was AMAZING! Her breakfasts were delicious, and each morning came with a fresh new juice smoothie. Don’t miss out on her pico, guac, and salsa — we were tempted to pack some for the trip home!There was some construction nearby, but it didn’t take away from our experience at all.We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone — friends, family, or anyone looking for a memorable stay. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful, clean, spacious and modern home close to downtown Tamarindo. I would highly recommend "elite package" allows breakfast prepared each AM, along w/ a golf cart rental to get to/from beach (10 min walk) & grocery store/shops (5-10 min walk) because the house is located up a hill. Definitely walkable, but cart makes the walk up a lot more manageable esp when lugging a groceries or bunch of beach gear. House felt very safe. It is gated with cameras, and house has alarm system that you can turn on during night ("stay" mode) and when you leave ("away" mode). Cristina was very helpful to provide recommendations and easily accessible. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend an excursion to Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja, which includes zip lining, water slide through the tropical forest, horse back riding, mud bath and hot springs bath. Cristina can help set this up. Also, look into getting a week-long pass to Langosta Beach Club, its a member's only pool and beach club.

My friends and I had an unforgettable experience during our first trip to Costa Rica, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing stay at this villa! From the moment we booked in February, Cris was incredibly communicative and supportive, even while she was on vacation herself. Her dedication to ensuring that guests are a top priority truly stood out.
Cris provided us with spot-on recommendations for activities and took care of everything for us, from booking a private chef and planning an ATV adventure to arranging a tequila tasting and getting us a golf cart. She made the trip planning process a breeze, allowing us to focus on enjoying our time.
Sharon, our housekeeper, was also a delight. She was so sweet and prepared the best American breakfasts we could ask for, which was a perfect start to our days filled with adventure.

Our stay was great. The manager made sure things ran smoothly. We only had 2 issues one was a complete miscommunication between myself and manager about a pick up but it was resolved quickly. The other was the 2 day of house mom service we got another house mom who was covering for the original she had no idea what all she was supposed to do, we commend her for trying to jump in but wish someone would have let us known bc we had to eat breakfast later than we would like, it gave us a late start of the day. She also didn’t know how to make a lot of the things listed for us to have during our stay, like drinks and snack options which we purchased the food for. But all in all she was great and completed her other jobs and did the best she could as a fill in. I would recommend this property a thousand times. It’s worth every penny spent.

Cabana de Playa was brilliant. Perfect location. So close to town and the beach. Cris and Vivian were so welcoming. House is perfect for a bunch of couples or large family. Roof top terrace was amazing at night. Great stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Cris and Vivi were the perfect team and welcomed us immediately during our stay! Having an onsite house keeper was a game changer and she was so kind! As far as the communication, Cris was EXCEPTIONAL! We started communicating months before our stay and she was so flexible with our changes and added trips that were required! I truly would love to stay at one of her properties again! The house was perfectly located and near the city with a quick Golf cart ride. ( highly recommended). Also with updated amenities and decor and a lovely pool to relax in, but all in all we enjoyed our stay in cabana de playa and can’t wait to make another trip back to Tamarindo! Outstanding location. Highly recommend this house.
We stayed with two families, and it was perfect for kids. The pool was excellent, and breakfast in the morning was an amazing bonus as well as laundry each day with kids was also a nice treat.
We saw a lot of wildlife, including birds and, one day, howler monkeys.
The setup is perfect for multiple families or groups. Would 100% stay here again.

The house was beautiful and exactly like the pictures. What made our stay so wonderful was Cris, our concierge, and our housekeeping staff. Cris was extremely responsive, well before and throughout our stay. She was very helpful in booking excursions and helping us find whatever we needed. The housekeepers were very nice and accommodating. Them making breakfast was a real treat. We rented a golf cart which made it easy to get to the store and town, although it was also walkable.

Our stay at Playa de Cabana was amazing! House was perfect for a group of 12. Everyone had space to relax and enjoy and we really appreciated how close the house was to the town of Tamarindo and the beach (~10 min walk). I’m not sure where to start nor how to even end my review on this amazing place. My family and I had such a wonderful time here and we all felt right at home. Christina and Vivian were amazing, from the checking in, every morning breakfast, sense of urgency with responses, my surprise birthday dinner, our excursions, car rides, everything was just so perfect. We even got to see the different type of monkeys in the trees, what a site to see. Every room had a bathroom which was a super plus for us, kitchen had all things needed even some seasonings. I can go on and on but I’ll end it with this…. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay pick this place we barely had to get a car rides to shop or party everything was walking distance or easy cab ride. I’m thankful for the pleasant stay and experience. Thanks so much Christina and Vivian for your amazing help and thanks to our chefs Dani, Mariam and GG. 10/10 Score!!!!

House was great! Very good for a large group. All bedrooms with own bathrooms. You can’t see the beach from the pool/deck, but can from the top roof terrace. Viviana the house mom was fabulous! Her food and services were incredible.

Cris was an amazing host! She was easy to get a hold of, handled any issues we had, and helped with recommendations. She also coordinated transportation to and from the airport for all nine of us. The home was clean and comfortable and close to town, which made dining, the beach and shopping and everything else a breeze. I would definitely stay again!

The house is as described. It was beautifully appointed and the set up was perfect. The house is two mirror image units- so if you were traveling with two families and wanted to lock the door between the units for privacy you could. Both units open on to a beautiful sun deck and built in infinity pool. There are double chaise lounges, cushioned chairs, umbrellas, dining tables, and sun awnings (MUCH needed) as well as a grill. The communication with Stay in Tamarindo (property management group) could be easier, but with that said it wasn't bad, just not as quick or as organized as past vacations to other destinations. Some communication coming via email and other through What's App. Despite this, Cris, our concierge, ultimately handled our questions and scheduled some of our activities (we planned some others directly). More affordable to book directly, but convenient if they book and arrange transportation should you not have a car at your disposal. Cris did arrange round trip airport transfers and provided name of grocery stocking services and private chef services prior to our arrival- all were excellent! One note: we did order groceries ahead and chose the breakfast packages as the house includes a House Mom who will prepare breakfast, snacks, and smoothies and drinks if the groceries are provided. We had a lot of extra fruits, cereals, OJ, Milks etc- so maybe order a little less (we were a group of 9). Viv's guac & pico de Gallo were favorites!

House is five minute golf cart ride to beaches. Golf cart was fun and helpful. House is very nice with fence and digital locks and gates. A lot to do in Tamarindo. Restaurants expensive. Grocery expensive. Overall very fun.

Cabana de Playa was a fantastic stay. The house is immaculate (6 beds with individual baths). Each room has its own A/C. The house is newer and very clean. There’s an amazing rooftop terrace (was great for dinners and hanging out playing games). The plunge pool was great (serviced twice during our week stay). Plenty of lounging furniture. Two kitchens with everything you could need. Location to downtown was great. We walked everywhere we needed/wanted to go. No need for the golf carts.
Diego was our contact for our stay, he helped book transportation, excursions etc. Vivian is the house keeper. She is there Monday-Saturday (8a-4p), she makes breakfast for you, cleans, laundry. The days we had early excursions she came in early to make us breakfast.
Our highlight of the stay was having the private chef experience. Diana and her husband were phenomenal. We had them come out 2x and it was by far the best meals we had. There company is grillmaster506.

Our family had an amazing stay at this Tamarindo property. The location offered both convenience and privacy with stunning views. The house was impeccably clean and spacious. The pool deck was a highlight, used multiple times a day. Diego, the host, was responsive and quickly resolved any issues. The diligent housekeepers were a bonus. We unanimously agreed that if we return to Tamarindo, this is where we'll stay. Highly recommended for a fantastic and comfortable experience.

Casa Cabaña de Playa was even better than we expected from the pictures! The pool was amazing, and we loved the outdoor dining table. It was perfect for having a great time with family while cooking a tasty BBQ! The sun loungers were fantastic for waking up early and listening to birds and watching howler monkeys. The house had a beautiful, colorful design that we really liked. But the best part was the rooftop spot! We had a blast chilling there with the group, taking pictures, playing games, and just talking. The sunsets from there were breathtaking! The house's location was also great – close to everything in Tamarindo, but still peaceful and calm on a beautiful hill. We had an amazing time at Casa Cabaña de Playa, and we're already excited to return!
